1. Your Right to Data Deletion
At ShopInStreet, we respect your right to control your personal data. You can request deletion of your data at any time. This policy explains how to request data deletion and what happens when you do.
2. How to Request Data Deletion
Method 1: Through the ShopInStreet App
- Open the ShopInStreet app (Vendor or Customer)
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Confirm your request by entering your phone number
- Your account and associated data will be scheduled for deletion
Method 2: By Email
Send an email to privacy@shopinstreet.com with:
- Subject line: “Data Deletion Request”
- Your registered phone number or email address
- Your account type (Vendor or Customer)
- The specific data you want deleted (or “all data” for complete account deletion)
We will respond within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
Method 3: For Facebook / Instagram / WhatsApp Data
If you connected your Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp account through ShopInStreet:
- In-app: Go to Settings → Connected Accounts → Disconnect
- From Facebook: Go to Facebook Settings → Business Integrations → Remove ShopInStreet
- Automatic: When you remove our app from Facebook Business Integrations, our system automatically receives a data deletion callback and deletes all stored tokens and Meta-related data within 24 hours
3. What Data Gets Deleted
For Customers
- Account profile (name, email, phone number)
- Order history and preferences
- Delivery addresses
- Loyalty points and rewards history
- Marketing preferences and opt-out status
- App usage data
For Vendors (Restaurant Owners)
- Business profile and account information
- Menu data and photos
- Customer database and order records
- Marketing campaign history
- Connected social media tokens (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook)
- Analytics and reporting data
- Staff accounts under the Vendor's restaurant
4. Data We May Retain
Note: Certain data may be retained after account deletion as required by law. This does not include personal identifiers and cannot be linked back to you.
- Transaction records — Required by tax regulations in Canada and India, retained for up to 7 years
- Fraud prevention records — Retained for up to 2 years
- Anonymized analytics — Aggregated data that cannot be linked back to you
- Legal compliance records — As required by applicable regulations
5. Deletion Timeline
Within 24 hours
Social media access tokens (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook) are deleted. Active sessions and login tokens are revoked.
Within 7 days
Account access is disabled. Marketing campaigns are stopped. Social media posting is stopped.
Within 30 days
All personal data is deleted from active systems.
Within 90 days
All personal data is removed from backups.
6. Confirmation
Once your data deletion is complete, we will send a confirmation to your registered email address (if available). For Facebook-initiated deletions, you can check the status using the confirmation code provided in the Facebook data deletion callback.
